Dream Rush Passes Test

August 05, 2007 · By · Share

Dream Rush absolutely dominated a full field of three-year-old fillies in the Grade One Darley Test Stakes at Saratoga.  This win confirms the fact that Dream Rush is one of the fastest sprinting fillies in the country.

Dream Rush broke alertly and took over the lead after an eighth of a mile.  Setting fractions of :22, :44 and 1:08 for six furlongs, Dream Rush finished the seven furlong race in 1:22 - two lengths in front of her competition.  She earned $150K and the respect of the racing community for her effort.

Trainer Rick Violette, Jr. said "Dream Rush is a just a wonderful filly, and I couldn't be happier that she won this race.  Winning the Test is a monumental accomplishment for a three-year-old filly and it really validates what we've known about this filly for quite some time."

Terry Finley added, "I'm so happy for the Partners and everyone associated with West Point Thoroughbreds.  This win couldn't have come at a better time when the eyes of the racing and breeding community were on Saratoga."

The Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint is our ultimate goal this year.  We'll see how she comes out of the race and then map our plan to Monmouth Park in October.
