Lear's Princess set to tackle Alabama Stakes(G1)

August 16, 2007 · By · Share

Lear's Princess has drawn perfectly in post six for the $600,000 Alabama Stake(G1) at Saratoga.  Lear's Princess enters the Alabama off of a runner-up finish in the Grade 1 CCA Oaks in July at Belmont.  The CCA Oaks was Lear's Princess' first start on the dirt.  Prior to that race, she was undefeated in three prior starts on the turf and polytrack.

The field of seven in the Alabama looks very evenly matched, but there looks to possibly be a pretty contentious pace scenario.  Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin expects Lear's Princess to be closer to the pace, but her off the pace style would be helped by a hot pace.

A three-year-old daughter of Lear Fan, Lear's Princess has never trained better.  Jockey Eibar Coa gets the call back on Lear's Princess and is now familiar with her.  We would not want to trade places with anyone in the race.
