High Finance set for Forego Handicap(G1)
High Finance, our four-year-old graded stakes winner by Talk Is Money, drew post ten of eleven in the $250,000 Forego Handicap(G1) on September 1st at Saratoga. High Finance enters the Forego off of a stirring victory in the Tom Fool Handicap(G2) on July 4th. Jockey John Velazquez, who rode High Finance in his last two starts, will be back in the irons for the Forego.
Trainer Rick Violette said, "High Finance could not be doing any better. He came out of the Tom Fool exceptionally, and he's trained wonderfully over the past six weeks up here at Saratoga. He seems to love this track, and he's a special horse. He is quick, and he can carry that speed over a distance of ground. That makes him extra tough at seven-furlongs. I hope we can get him a Grade 1 win this weekend."
West Point Thoroughbreds President Terry Finley said, "High Finance has had his fair share of issues, but Rick Violette has done a wonderful job with him. He's given High Finance time when he needed time, and he's turned this horse into one of the top sprinters in the country. With a little luck he'll be a Grade 1 winner."
