Macho Again to contest Belmont
Fresh off of a second place finish in the Preakness Stakes, West Point Thoroughbreds' three-year-old Macho Again will run in the $1,000,000 Belmont Stakes(G1) on June 7th at Belmont. West Point Thoroughbreds President Terry Finley said, "Macho Again proved he could hold his own against any horse in the Preakness. The Belmont is a completely different race. Nobody knows who can run the mile and a half. Big Brown is the clear favorite, but I have always said we would never run away from a race because of one horse. We're going to line up in June and take our best shot."
Trainer Dallas Stewart said, "He proved he was a two-turn horse in the Preakness. We realize that Big Brown is a formidable foe, but the Belmont is a Classic race. You only get this kind of opportunity so often, so we're going to take a shot.
A son of Macho Uno, Macho Again has three winds and three seconds from nine career starts. His lifetime earnings stand at over $343,000.
