Tropic Storm ready for Grade 1 Triple Bend
Tropic Storm drew ideally in post three of seven for the $300,000 Grade 1 Triple Bend Handicap this Saturday at Hollywood Park. Run at seven-furlongs, the Triple Bend is an invitational race and fields some of the fastest horses on the west coast.
Tropic Storm will look to capture his first graded stakes victory in the Triple Bend. He enters the race off of a second place finish in the Grade 3 Ack Ack Handicap. On paper, the Triple Bend shapes up very well for Tropic Storm. He drew just outside the primary speed, Desert Code. This should allow Tropic Storm use his tactical speed to stalk the pace if desired and potentially get first run on the closers.
Trainer Craig Dollase said, "Tropic Storm could not be doing better. I thought his race in the Ack Ack was tremendous, and I love that we are cutting back to seven-furlongs. This is a true Grade 1 field. Street Boss will likely be the favorite, and he is a very formidable horse. However, I have always thought Tropic Storm had a world of talent. We will head to the track on Saturday knowing that we have every opportunity to capture a Grade 1."
A four-year-old son of Stormy Atlantic, Tropic Storm has four wins from ten career starts and earnings of over $191,000.
