Fitz Just Right to Run in Kentucky Oaks

West Point Thoroughbreds to have Two Starters in Oaks

On the advice of trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, it has been decided Fitz Just Right will be entered in the G1 $500,000 Kentucky Oaks on May 1st at Churchill Downs.  "She's just been doing so well as of late, I think she deserves a shot," said McLaughlin.

WPT President Terry Finley echoed McLaughlin's comments.  "She really has never been better.  I saw her when I was at Keeneland for the sales event and she has really come into her own."

The decision to enter Fitz in the Oaks will give West Point a one-two punch in the world's most prestigious race for three-year-old fillies.  Justwhistledixie will also be entered in the G1 mile-and-an-eighth event which will be run on Friday, May 1st.

"Kiaran and I had a long discussion about it," said Finley "and we just thought to ourselves, 'this filly deserves a shot' so why shouldn't she run in the Oaks.  We wouldn't bring her over there (to Churchill Downs) if we didn't think she didn't have a chance.  We're excited about watching two of our horses run in this great event."
