Prince Teton Wins!
Timing is everything. You need to be in the right spot at the right moment and get a little luck. In the last race at Keeneland on Wednesday, Prince Teton was in the right place at the right time. The three-year-old son of Teton Forest broke well and settled off the pace in the 7 furlong contest over the Polytrack. Prince Teton commenced his winning bid five wide at the top of the stretch. Under steady urging from jockey Julien Leparoux, the Dale Romans trainee stuck his nose in front just in the nick of time.
Dale Romans said, "He has been training well and I knew he would run a good race today. I told Julien to settle and then make a sustained run. He did just that. This is a confidence boosting win for this horse."
Julien Leparoux said, "He broke well and I let him settle right off the pace. I stayed after him down the lane and luckily we got up just in time. "
Prince Teton earned $13,200 for the victory. We will look to run him back at Churchill Downs in November.
