Grey Chatelaine Wins!

October 31, 2009 · By · Share

She just keeps going. Grey Chatelaine has hit the board in her past five starts. Two of those five starts have been wins. The best adage in horse racing is to "get to the front and improve your position from there".  That is exactly what the grey daughter of Forest Camp did on Thursday.  She broke well, went to the front, fought off a challenger in the stretch and gradually edged away again late to win at Golden Gate.

Trainer O.J. Jauregui said, "This was so great to see.  I really wanted this race for her.  I thought she might be in trouble when they came after her, but she dug in.  She can win these type of races.  She tries so hard.  It's nice to get her back in the winner's circle again.  She's getting quite consistent.  Five straight times on the board."

Grey Chatelaine came out of her winning effort in good order and will look to make it six straight on the board efforts in a few weeks on the northern California circuit.
