Rereadthefootnotes Romps!

November 04, 2009 · By · Share

There is nothing to reread. He dominated. Rereadthefootnotes lead from gate to wire on Thursday at Aqueduct. Sent off as the 2nd choice in the NY Bred "two other than" allowance, the son of Readthefootnotes was bumped at the break but quickly sprinted out to take the lead. He was pressed for a half mile by two rivals through opening fractions of 22.38 and 45.21. At the quarter pole, jockey Ramon Dominguez called on the West Point runner, and he pulled away from his competition in a decisive manner. He cruised home under a hand ride to score by nearly six lengths. The final time for the six furlongs was 1:10.51.

Trainer Mike Hushion said, "He has been training very well and I expected him to run a good race. He is such a fast horse. We are going to have fun with him this winter."

Ramon Dominguez said, "We got bumped at the break, but then he shot out there. Once we got to the lead, he relaxed for me. I knew I had a lot of horse turning for home. He won easy."

Rereadthefootnotes has hit the board in 5 of 6 starts. He earned $27,000 for the victory and now has lifetime earnings of over $113,000.
