Amazed By Grace Arrives in California

December 11, 2009 · By · Share

Our Philadelphia Park superstar has arrived in California and is ready to continue her five race win streak in the $300,000 LaBrea Stakes (G1) on December 26 at Santa Anita.

Amazed By Grace arrived at Santa Anita late Wednesday night after an uneventful plane ride from Newark International Airport. She settled in well at Carla Gaines' barn, and went to the track Thursday morning. The chestnut daughter of Bowman's Band galloped strongly and appeared to handle the change in surface with ease. Amazed By Grace's groom said that she was all business throughout the entire process, just as she is at home.

Trainer Guadalupe Preciado is scheduled to fly out to California for a few days once his filly settles in and acclimates to the warmer Southern California weather. He will watch her breeze before returning to his home base at Philadelphia Park. Preciado will then return to Santa Anita in time for our filly's first graded stakes attempt.

Preciado said, "This filly came out of her last race in great shape. She has been training extremely well at Philadelphia Park, and I am happy we got her out to California this early. She will have a chance to get used to her new surroundings. I am very excited about our chances in the race."

Amazed By Grace is coming off an impressive victory in the $75,000 Cornucopia Stakes on November 24 at Philadelphia, in which she earned an extremely strong 93 Beyer Speed Figure. Her numbers have increased with every start, and we are confident she will take yet another step forward in the LaBrea. She has five wins and one third from seven career starts, and earnings of over $152,000.
