Camp Victory Making Stakes Debut On Saturday

December 16, 2009 · By · Share

He's got the looks, the speed, and a Hall of Fame pilot. Now let's hope he can put it all together and cross the finish line first on Saturday. Our flashy son of Forest Camp, Camp Victory is set to make his stakes debut in the $50,000 Stuka Stakes at Hollywood Park on Saturday. The dark bay gelding is coming off a super impressive maiden win on November 21 over the lawn at Hollywood, in which he took the lead early on and never looked back.  Veteran jockey Mike Smith has the return call.

Trainer Carla Gaines has always been very high on this colt. "He has become so much more focused since being gelded. We know he loves the turf, but he has been training so well on the main track that we figured we could try for a stakes win. I think he is set to run big."

Post time for the Stuka Stakes is set for 2:01 PDT on Saturday. Camp Victory will break from post 2 in the 6 horse field.  We wish our colt and his partners the best of luck.
