Justwhistledixie Seeks 3 for 3 at Gulfstream Park
She's back to make in three wins in three starts at Gulfstream Park. Justwhistledixie returns to action on Saturday in the $100,000 Sabin Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park. Winner of both the Davona Dale (gr. II) and Bonnie Miss (gr. II) Stakes last year at Gulfstream, Justwhistledixie established herself as one of the top three-year-old fillies in the country. She was second in the Acorn Stakes (gr. I) this past summer and returned off a freshening to then finish second in the Top Flight Handicap (gr. II) at Aqueduct in November. She is coming off a troubled fourth place finish in the El Encino Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita last month, but is poised to return to her winning ways over the Gulfstream strip.
Trainer Bill Mott reports that his filly is training better than ever. "This is her third start for me, and I think she is really going to run well. She loves this racetrack. I am not sure she handled the synthetic very well last time out, and she had a rough trip. If she runs up to how she did last winter at Gulfstream, she will be tough to beat."
Terry Finley, President of West Point Thoroughbreds says, "We are very excited to get Justwhistledixie back to Gulfstream Park and look forward to a very productive 2010 campaign with her. She won the Bonnie Miss with Julien (Leparoux) last year at Gulfstream, and he suits her very well. "
The dark bay daughter of Dixie Union has 5-2-2 from 10 career starts and earnings of over $436,000.
Post time for the Sabin Stakes is 4:12 EST on Saturday. Dixie drew post 1 of 8 with Eclipse Award winning jockey Julien Leparoux in the irons.
