Camp Victory Wins!

August 29, 2010 · By · Share

Camp Victory showed tremendous determination on Friday to score his fourth career victory.

He broke well and assumed a tracking position behind the frontrunner down the backside. The duo was about four lengths ahead of the next flight of horses until the turn. At the top of the lane Rafael Bejarano called on Camp Victory for run, and he was met by several challengers from farther back in the pack. At one point in the lane, California Solider stuck is head in front. Camp Victory was extremely game and fought back along the inside to score by a neck.

Trainer Carla Gaines said, "He was so game. I am proud of him. I though they might go right by us in the stretch, but he kept going."

Jockey Rafael Bejarano said, "My horse settled for me down the backside. When I asked him for run, he kept going. He tried very hard."

Camp Victory now has four wins from eleven career starts and earnings just shy of $100,000. He earned himself a well deserved rest and will return to action later this year.

Congratulations to Camp Victory and his partners!
