Successful Score wins!!!

November 05, 2010 · By · Share

Success can be measured in many ways.  In athletics, the criteria is easy.  It's all about wins.  Acknowledging that, I think it's fair to say that Successful Score's return to the races was a rousing success as he drew off to an easy victory after more than ten months on the bench.

Trainer Dale Romans said, "The horse had been training really well.  It's tough to get them ready off of this kind of layoff, but we got him into a good spot.  The horse can continue to feel good about himself, and we get a nice tightener into him.  This should only help us going forward."

Jockey Robby Albarado said, "My horse was well settled early.  When I asked him he moved up.  I thought he might hang for just a second, but when he switched leads he kicked clear.  I just had to keep busy on him."

A three-year-old son of Successful Appeal, Successful Score now has two wins and two seconds from eight career starts.  His earnings now exceed $68,000.  He came out of the race in good order and should be back in the gate later this fall.
