Congratulations to West Point Thoroughbreds trainer H. Graham Motion and his team for a historic win at Churchill Downs Saturday in the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby. It was Motion's first Kentucky Derby victory.

A record crowd of 164,858 saw Motion trained Animal Kingdom roar home first by 2 and 3/4 lengths with John Velazquez aboard carrying the silks of Team Valor International for 20 happy racing syndicate members.

Motion trains West Point horses King Ting(IRE), Brave Monarch, and a two-year-old Purim colt based out of his training facility at Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland.

It would be interesting to see if the people here at Team Valor would have congratulated Graham Motion for winning had one of WPT's horses won the Derby? Based on Mr. Irwins comments after the race, I doubt it. It's a very classy move to acknowledge one of your own regardless of the owner. It says volumes about the differences between the two companies.
We couldn't agree more! WPT very classy! Thank you!
Congratulations for the greatest victory in the Sport of KINGS, THE KENTUCKY DERBY. We have been your fan since you started training King Ting for WPT. We are a partner with WPT with King Ting. King Ting, had some very exciting races which we have enjoyed. Hopefully he will have a great future with you. A.J. Pumila and Craig Accardo.
