Instant Action Opportunity: Lady Fairbanks
There aren’t too many things more exciting than seeing your horse run and win. You can experience the thrill of Thoroughbred ownership this summer at Hollywood Park and Del Mar with West Point Thoroughbreds’ instant action spotlight, Lady Fairbanks.
This elegant daughter of Pure Prize has been thoroughly impressive and precocious in her training for conditioner Craig Dollase. We are strongly considering a debut in a maiden special weight on Thursday, July 7th at Hollywood Park. This offering is almost fully subscribed.
Lady Fairbanks was gate approved today and is scheduled to breeze five furlongs over the weekend as she completes final preparations for her highly anticipated debut. If she runs like we think she will, we’ll take a hard look at some juvenile filly stakes this summer at Del Mar.
Lady Fairbanks Biography:
-Two-year-old filly by Pure Prize purchased at the 2011 Barrett’s March 2-Year-Old in Training Sale. Terry Finley and Buzz Chace loved her from the moment they laid eyes on her. She has all the parts, physique, speed, demeanor, and pedigree.
-We think Pure Prize is underrated. He's very well bred being by Storm Cat, and was a solid, hard knocking racehorse trained by Shug McGaughey that has sired some very solid runners, including the multiple Grade 1 winning filly Pure Clan. Lewis Lakin, a good friend of WPT campaigned Pure Clan, and we followed her closely. What a racehorse she was. This filly looks just like her. Click here to see photos of Pure Clan.
-Just this week alone (June 16th-23rd), Pure Prize has sired six winners around the country. He is a leading active US Sire in his crop, second only to Street Cry by Average Earnings Index. In 2010, he sired THREE GRADE 1 WINNERS and 17 stakes horses. Take a look at his pedigree. He’s royally bred. A son of Storm Cat and half brother to Grade 1 winner Persistently.
-Being a Florida bred, Lady Fairbanks is eligible for the Sunshine Millions.
-West Point Thoroughbreds and Craig Dollase have made an excellent team over the years. Craig conditions Grade 1 winner and earner of over $2.5 million, Awesome Gem for the black and gold as well as stakes winners El Gato Malo and Tropic Storm.

What They’re Saying About Lady Fairbanks:
Terry Finley, president of West Point Thoroughbreds:
“Buzz (Chace) and I have always thought Pure Prize was a highly underrated sire. He throws solid, hard knocking horses. We loved how this filly breezed at the Barretts sale, and she has really blossomed since joining Craig’s barn. She looks like one of our top two-year-olds this year. She hasn’t put a foot wrong and matches her great physical attributes with a great mind. If she runs well first out, we’ll take a hard look at the juvenile filly stake races this summer at Del Mar.”
Craig Dollase, trainer of Lady Fairbanks:
