WPT's 2YO Curlin Filly Wins

October 22, 2012 · By Erin Birkenhauer · Share

WPT’s Watrugonnadorosie relished the slop in an “off the turf” maiden race at Belmont Park on Friday, scoring by two lengths in her second career start for trainer Bill Mott.

Under confident handling by jockey Junior Alvarado, the bay daughter of Curlin prompted the pace from the outside, challenged the frontrunner at the five sixteenths pole, and emerged from quarter pole the leader before being geared down in the final yards.

Purchased at the 2011 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Watrugonnadorosie is owned in partnership with St. Elias Stables.
