Flashy Gray Sells Out in Just Days

Flashy Gray at the Keeneland November Sale

WPT newest stable star, Flashy Gray sold out just days after being purchased at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

  • A 2-year-old daughter of Flashy Bull (a grade I winner and Kentucky Derby starter for WPT), Flashy Gray trounced a field of maidens by over 10 lengths at Churchill Downs on October 5.
  • “Similar to the stakes performer Twilight Eclipse earlier in the year, Flashy Gray was very well received by our Partners and sold out quickly,” said WPT president Terry Finley. “She’s settled in at Bill Mott’s Payson Park barn and we’re looking forward to seeing her carry the black and gold at Gulfstream. WPT has definitely become more involved in the market for ready made horses, and we’re using our resources to identify talented prospects like this filly across the globe.”

Breeder Dolphus Morrison sent Flashy Gray through the auction ring at Keeneland as part of his complete dispersal.

Mr. Morrison, also Rachel Alexandra's breeder, told drf.com that Flashy Gray has so far exceeded all of Rachel's times at the training center, and that he was very pleased she will be under our management.

That's a pretty lofty compliment, and we've got a long way to go. However, we expect her Partners to have a fun ride as this filly develops. Read more.
