Two other very important highlights were Commanding Curve’s runner-up effort to California Chrome in the $2,000,000 Kentucky Derby (G1) (it’s an out of body experience to see your horse full of steam when they turn for home in the Run for the Roses) and Twilight Eclipse finishing a fast-closing third in the $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1).
Horses donning the black and gold silks competed in every Triple Crown race in 2014. Twilight Eclipse’s Partners traveled to halfway across the world to see him compete in the Dubai Sheema Classic (UAE-1).
“Boy oh boy, 2014 was an incredible year for this company,” said WPT president and founder Terry Finley. “We enjoyed success all over the country and had horses be competitive in some of the best races in the world. We know we have a target on our backs, and we like it that way, as it gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning. We have a tremendous group of Partners who are a part of the West Point family, and I owe our success to them. Without the support of our Partners, none of this would be possible.”
