Street Surrender Wins 3 in a Row!
Street Surrender made it three in a row with a dazzling win on Sunday afternoon at Golden Gate Fields.
Dispatched as the favorite, the filly set the pace under Julien Couton, and with ears pricked, switched leads at the top of the stretch and edged away.
Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said, “It’s so great to see this filly put it all together. We had some rough patches earlier in her career, but we’ve let her develop, and she’s really shown a great ability to relax going two turns. I really think she could win a stake this year.”
“Her first race going two turns was an absolute disaster,” said WPT EVP Jeff Lifson. “She ran decently sprinting a few times after that but just kept looking like she needed more ground. We give a lot of credit to Jerry and his team for teaching her how to relax and harness her natural speed. That’s made all the difference in her subsequent two turn races.”
Purchased by WPT at the 2015 OBS April 2-Year-Old in Training Sale, Street Surrender now has five wins from 11 career starts and earnings of $126,925. She’ll most likely face stakes company in her next start.
