Berned Breaks From Rail in Charles Town Oaks (G3)

September 22, 2017 · By Erin Birkenhauer · Share

Berned seeks her first graded stakes win in the $300,000 Charles Town Oaks (G3) on Saturday night in West Virginia.

Trained by Graham Motion, the sweetheart filly by Bernardini won her seasonal bow in May at Monmouth before finishing fifth, beaten just two lengths in the Delaware Oaks (G3) then failing to hit the board in two tough races at Saratoga.

Due to the bullring track configuration, the seven-furlong Oaks is run around two turns. Berned isn’t the biggest filly in the world and is pretty agile, so we feel confident she’ll handle the tight turns.

This year’s Charles Town Oaks is a great betting race, with a full field and a number of fillies capable of winning.

Berned breaks from the rail under Feargal Lynch. Post time is 10:18 ET.
