Mark DeDomenico LLC’s and West Point Thoroughbreds’ talented 3-year-old Shivermetimbers steps onto the Kentucky Derby trail in Saturday’s $100,000 Sham Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita. The top four finishers in the earn Derby qualifying points. West Point runners Scholar Athlete and Kanthaka ended 2017 by adding Ws to their resumes.
On December 23, Scholar Athlete showed tremendous determination and got a whisker down on the wire first in a salty turf allowance race at Tampa Bay Downs.
“Scholar” as he’s affectionately known around the Graham Motion barn now has four wins to his credit. By Einstein, he finished fourth in the 2016 Queen’s Plate and was third in the Commonwealth Derby (G3) at Churchill Downs that fall. Continue »
Recent Aqueduct maiden winner Septimius Severus has been purchased privately by West Point Thoroughbreds, Dean and Patti Reeves, and Randy Hill and moved to trainer George Weaver. He joins seven other West Point 2-year-olds who have broken their maidens this year.
The handsome Pennsylvania-bred son of Roman Ruler closed like a freight train to score by a nose at first asking for trainer Charlton Baker on November 25. The effort earned him a rock solid 82 Beyer Speed Figure. Continue »
