West Point Thoroughbreds’ multiple stakes-winning New York-bred Empire Dreams has been retired from racing after suffering an ankle injury following a workout at Belmont Park.
Trained by Tom Albertrani for most of his career, the 6-year-old gelding is a five-time stakes winner, with his most notable victory coming in the 2015 Empire Classic. He also captured the New York Stallion Series as a 2-year-old, the New York Derby as a 3-year-old, and the Commentator and Alex Robb Stakes as a 4-year-old.
