Bang Zoom! West Point Thoroughbreds’ speedy 5-year-old mare Quality Lass won for the seventh time her career on Monday. Dispatched as the heavy favorite in the five-furlong allowance race at Delaware Park, she wasted no time when they sprung the latch and immediately darted to the lead under John Bisono. After setting quick opening fractions she drew away by three lengths, stopping the clock in 56.69 seconds, just two fifths off the track record.
Next up for Quality Lass is the $200,000 Turf Amazon Handicap run at five furlongs on the turf on Monday, September 1 at Parx. We love the fact that this sometimes quirky mare gets to walk from her stall directly into the paddock for the biggest race of her career.

“Trainer Lupe (Preciado) has done an amazing job with this mare,” said WPT president Terry Finley. “She was a 25k claimer early last year, but he was patient with her and she’s just gotten better and better. We were really excited to get a stakes win on her resume when she won the Satin and Lace Stakes at Presque Isle last month.”
