This was the first of six fillies purchased at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in partnership with world-class bloodstock agent David Ingordo and John Shirreffs (trainer of one of the best horses of the modern era, Zenyatta).
Quality Road was a fantastic racehorse and is making his mark in the breeding shed. This year he’s been particularly strong with fillies. West Coast-based Abel Tasman won the Kentucky Oaks (G1), Salty won the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2), and most recently Caledonia Road won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).
This filly’s dam (by After Market) is a graded stakes winner who captured the Osunitas Stakes at Del Mar. She’s bred on the same cross as Breeders’ Cup winner Hootenanny and graded stakes winner Blofeld.
Quality Road was a dynamite racehorse who won the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) in just his third career start before going on to win the Florida Derby (G1), Amsterdam (G2), Donn Handicap (G1), Met Mile (G1), and Woodward (G1).
Ingordo on the filly: This filly’s pedigree goes back to some key female families. She’s gorgeous and her best days are ahead of her.
