Sweet Currency, our three-year-old daughter of Eltish, broke her maiden in her first route try by romping to a nine-length victory at Bay Meadows.  Trainer Jedd Josephson said, “I really believed she was going to run big today.  She trained well coming into the race, and I thought she might relax better as we stretched her out.  Russell (Baze) said she felt real good under him.  He didn’t have to ask her early, but she was up there with the pace and when he asked her to go she opened up.  She got a little tired on us and lost focus there late, but he kept her to task and she proved the best at the end.”

Sweet Currency will run back in mid-March at Bay Meadows.
