A Barretts March 2-year-old in training purchase, Tacit Approval was piloted by the meet’s leading rider Edwin Maldonado. She was the fourth winner of the short Fairplex meet for trainer Craig Dollase.

After two starts at Del Mar, Terry Finley and Dollase considered the restricted $100,000 Barretts Debutante, a stake race known for attracting maidens. “This filly’s been a bit speed crazy in the mornings,” said Finley. “She’s got talent, but was thought running in the stake was a bit too ambitious at this stage of her development. We regrouped, pointed for this maiden race, and the plan worked out. Edwin (Maldonado) worked her before the race and gets along with her very well.”
