Tiznowforamerica created fireworks for his Partners with an impressive win in a first level allowance on Thursday afternoon at Belmont Park.

He broke alertly and flashed early speed, sitting just off pacesetter Jimmy Connors. Under Javier Castellano he edged closer nearing the top of the stretch, took command and continued gamely. The final time for the six and one half furlong contest was a snappy 1:16.14 over the fast going.

A 3-year-old son of Tiznow out of the Boston Harbor mare Papa to Kinzie, Tiznowforamerica was making his second start off a layoff for Tom Albertrani.

“We’ve always been very high on this horse,” said WPT president Terry Finley. “After he broke his maiden last summer at Saratoga he didn’t fire in two stakes races, so we backed off and gave him some time away from the races. He tired first time off the layoff, but was very sharp today.”

Trainer Tom Albertrani said, “I knew he’d need a tightener off the bench. He was very sharp going into this race and the outside draw definitely helped him. Last time he was stuck along the rail and the jock was forced to make a premature move.”

Tiznowforamerica will likely contest a second level allowance at Saratoga next time out.
