Dallas Stewart trains for West Point Thoroughbreds in Kentucky, New Orleans, and Saratoga. Before venturing out on his own, he spent 12 years working under the tutelage of leading trainer D. Wayne Lukas. There he oversaw such world-class horses as Lady’s Secret, Winning Colors, Thunder Gulch, Serena’s Song, Timber Country, Tabasco Cat, and many other Grade I winners.
On his own, Stewart has saddled Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) heroines Unbridled Elaine and Forever Unbridled as well as Grade 1 winners Macho Again, Out for a Spin, Unbridled Forever and Lemons Forever (sensing a theme?). Unbridled Elaine won the 2001 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) and Lemons Forever won the 2006 Kentucky Oaks (G1). Macho Again was a Grade 1 winner campaigned by WPT and Stewart who retired with earnings over $1.8 million.
Stewart has trained the Kentucky Derby runner-up twice (Golden Soul and WPT’s Commanding Curve). Hopefully, the third time’s the charm for this Louisiana native.
Stewart resides in Louisville, KY with his wife Yvette and their sons Wesley and Cole.
