Jerry Hollendorfer joined the WPT trainer roster in April of 2016. An Ohio native, Hollendorfer was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.
Hollendorfer began working with horses at Acton Park in Ohio and graduated from Akron State before venturing to California. He got a job working on the Bay Meadows backstretch and scaled the ranks from hot walker to assistant trainer for Jerry Dutton. After a stint with Jerry Fanning he set out on his own in 1979.
During a training career that has spanned 40 years, Hollendorfer has notched numerous training titles and won over 7,000 races.
Hollendorfer trainees have won three Breeders’ Cup races, three Kentucky Oaks, two Santa Anita Handicaps, a Pacific Classic, and a Met Mile. He’s currently third on the list of all-time winningest trainers.
