Ralph Biamonte /Trainer

Ralph Biamonte was born in Niagara Falls, Canada and owns a home there today. However, he spends most of his time at Woodbine in Toronto, where his string is stabled.

He got started in racing as a teenager working at Fort Erie Race Track in the summers before attending dental school at Marquette University. Ralph’s training mentor was the late Canadian Hall of Famer Gord Huntley.

Ralph practiced dentistry for 30 years, but his passion for horses never went away. For 17 of those 30 years, he was a dentist and horse trainer at the same time!

He sold his dental practice and now focuses solely on horses. Biamonte trained horses compete mostly in Canada, but he brings a string to Florida each winter.

Ralph’s been amongst the leading trainers at Woodbine for several years. In 2014 he earned his 1,000th career victory.
