Tom Morley opened his own stables in March 2013 after learning about the horse industry across the globe. He hails from a racing family in the UK and his uncle was a group 1 winning flat trainer and his cousin a group 1 winning jump trainer.
Morley’s first job in racing was with Ed Dunlop at Gainesbourough Stable. He also spent time at Lloyd Weber Family Stud and Watership Down before obtaining a BA in History from Newcastle University.
Upon graduation, he was accepted into the Darley Flying Start Program, a management trainee course sponsored by Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Over a two year period, Morley traveled the world working with and studying about racehorses.
Upon graduation, Morley became an assistant trainer for Jeremy Noseda in Newmarket. During his time with Noseda he worked with multiple group and grade one winners including Fleeting Spirit (European champion sprinter), Soldier’s Tale, Sixties Icon, Simply Perfect, and Awesome Act.
In 2010, Morley began working for U.S. based trainer Eddie Kenneally and was involved with horses such as Santiva, Custom for Carlos, Honorable Dillon, Majestic Hussar, and Heavenly Landing. After 18 months with Kenneally, Morley made the decision to venture out on his own.
He’s a well-respected up-and-coming young trainer who has already established a strong foundation on one of the toughest racing circuits in the world. He is married to NYRA on air personality Maggie Wolfendale.
