Virtuously Wins at Kentucky Downs / Tuesday, September 20, 2011

WPT’s 3YO filly Virtuously broke her maiden nicely yesterday over the European style turf course at Kentucky Downs. A daughter of Congrats, Virtuously hit the gate at the start of the 1 mile and 70 yard maiden turf event and was near the back of the field on the backside of the course before launching a big run down the lane to score by 1 ½ lengths under Mark Guidry.

Trainer Dale Romans said, “I’ve always liked this filly. It’s taken her some time to put everything together, but today she made a sustained run and finished well.”

Virtuously earned $15,250 for her maiden breaking win. Look for her to run back in a few weeks at Keeneland.
