The Tale of the Cat filly set the pace from the inside and handled the sloppy sealed racetrack and lack of early pressure just fine, looking relaxed and striding out well. She extended her lead to over two lengths at the top of the stretch and held off latecomers.
Chief Operating Officer Tom Bellhouse said, “The plan was to send the filly to see if she could clear the field and just keep going. Let’s just say she executed the plan perfectly. We were encouraged by her last start at Laurel Park in October when she showed speed and kept fighting in the stretch.”
Her Partners celebrated her third career win in 12 starts. Watercolors has hit the board in half of her lifetime starts. She is based at Parx with trainer Guadalupe Preciado.
