West Point Thoroughbreds paired up with Tom Keithley to purchase the runaway juvenile winner Flashy Gray this morning at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

By Flashy Bull (who carried the black and gold silks to grade one victory), Flashy Gray is coming off a maiden-breaking score by 10 ¼ lengths at Churchill Downs on November 8 after finishing a game second in her debut at Keeneland on October 5 for trainer Lon Wiggins.

Consigned by Gainesway, agent for Dolphus C. Morrison Dispersal, Flashy Gray will join the barn of Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott and likely be pointed for stakes this winter at Gulfstream Park. Mr. Morrison, also Rachael Alexandra's breeder, told drf.com that Flashy Gray has so far exceeded all of Rachael's times at the training center, she is the best filly he owns, and that he was very pleased she will be under our management. On the comparison to Rachel's early developmental stages Terry Finley said, "That's a pretty lofty compliment, and we've got a long way to go. However, we expect her Partners are gonna have a fun ride as this filly develops."

“Flashy Bull was our first grade one winner, so we’re naturally inclined to like his offspring,” said WPT president Terry Finley. “This filly’s maiden win could not have been any more impressive. Not only is she fast, but she’s a beautiful individual with all the class in the world.”

“Her attitude really struck us," said WPT Director of Communications Erin Finley upon handling the transaction. "For just coming off the racetrack, she came here and just kind of put her head down and acted like a pro all week. Physically, she’s very correct. She’s a big, beautiful filly. She’s got good bone on her. We knew coming in there would be some people on her since she ran so impressively. She ran so well here at Keeneland (on Polytrack), and then won at Churchill (on dirt), so it showed us she’s versatile on both surfaces."
