For those outside the West Point circle, this company is about buying horses and winning big races. And they are right, in part. But those of us on the inside know it is about finding new friends and forming bonds for life. I can count several of my best friends in the world among those I have met in the last five years as a part of Team West Point.

I don’t have a lot to spend on my horse passions, so I want to make my money count as a member of an LLC with real privileges. The emotional highs I get starting with the pre-race anticipation standing in the paddock to the elation of holding a stakes trophy in the winner’s circle are uncomparable. And the champagne winner’s toast with your fellow Partners – just magical. Dreams do come true!

While we can’t invest in every horse, we can all adopt every one running under the black and gold. There are lots of opportunities to “love the highs.” Tools like Chatter and the web site help everyone get to know each other better. Add to that on and off-track interactions, and we develop a community better able to share in the delight and help stomach the inevitable bumps in the road. Sure, the partnerships you are in are the most special, but don’t forget to increase your opportunity for joy by emotionally adopting all the 50 or 60 horses racing under the colors.

I love the WPT team— it is the best feeling in the world to have so many people who love the same things be together in the never-ending, ever-changing endeavor of HORSE RACING.
