West Point 2-year-olds Paige Turner and Into the Beast have both turned Friday racing at Churchill Downs into their graduation day. Veteran jockey Corey Lanerie guided both of them.
Paige Turned poured it on impressively for a 5 1/4-length maiden score on October 31 in her second career start. Cherie DeVaux trains the daughter of Army Mule, and she will point for a stakes assignment at the end of the month at the Louisville track.
Into the Beast settled off the pace and kicked in with a wide rally to win going away by 2 1/2 lengths this afternoon.
West Point races the Into Mischief colt with St. Elias Stable, Beauty and the Beast Racing and SGV Thoroughbreds.
