Jane Lyon’s Summer Wind Equine received a bronze trophy of a mare and foal as the breeder of Flightline, who was crowned Champion Kentucky-Bred Horse of the Year as well as Champion Kentucky-Bred Older Dirt Male, at a ceremony Wednesday in Lexington. 

Mrs. Lyon raced Flightline in partnership with West Point Thoroughbreds, Woodford Racing, Hronis Racing and Siena Farm. 

In a nice bonus, the prestigious Broodmare of the Year award went to Dreaming of Julia, a daughter of an early West Point superstar on the racetrack: Dream Rush, who won four Graded stakes in a five-race span in 2007, including the Grade 1 Prioress at Belmont and Grade 1 Test at Saratoga.
