Miss Enchanted Puts a Bow On Saratoga Meet, Bullard Earns Rising Star Status at Del Mar / Friday, September 6, 2024

With a victory from Miss Enchanted on Saturday for Dale Romans, West Point Thoroughbreds wrapped up the Saratoga meet with 5 winners. The highlights included the Grade 1 triumph from Carson’s Run in the Saratoga Derby and Dontlookbackatall scoring in the Grade 3 Caress Stakes. Both Carson’s Run and Dontlookbackatall came back to run very well on the unique course at Kentucky Downs this past weekend, with Carson’s Run checking in second in the $3.1-million Nashville Derby and Dontlookbackatall finishing second in the Grade 2 Ladies Turf Sprint, both for trainer Christophe Clement.

West Point also had a debut 2-year-old winner at Del Mar on Sunday when Bullard rallied from last and drew away to score at Del Mar for trainer Michael McCarthy. West Point owns the son of Gun Runner with St. Elias Stable, Three Chimneys and Michael Talla.

Bullard received Rising Star status from the TDN. He was acquired from Denali Stud’s consignment at the 2023 Keeneland September yearling sale.
