Ten colts from the West Point roster are among the early nominees for the 2025 Triple Crown, including stakes winners Bullard, Keep It Easy and Pascaline along with Southwest Stakes (G3) runner-up Sandman.
Breaking down the group, they come from a variety of barns and backgrounds. Six were acquired as yearlings: Bullard (Michael McCarthy, based at Santa Anita), Brightline Bullet (Christophe Clement, Payson Park in Florida), Keep It Easy (Dale Romans, Gulfstream), Statesman (Shug McGaughey, Payson Park), Superpower (Christophe Clement, Belmont Park) and Yinzer (Steve Asmussen, Fair Grounds).
Coming from the 2024 sales of 2-year-olds in training: Pascaline (Arnaud Delacour, Tampa Bay Downs), Sandman (Mark Casse, Oaklawn Park), Sorcerer’s Silver (Dale Romans, Gulfstream), and Walking in Memphis (Mark Casse, Gulfstream).
Bullard and Sandman could cross paths in the $1.25-million Rebel Stakes (G2) on Saturday, February, 22 at Oaklawn. Keep It Easy is pointing for the $400,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) on Saturday, March 1 at Gulfstream. All three are part of Steve Haskin’s top 20 contenders for the Kentucky Derby
