West Point Thoroughbreds and trainer John Sadler continued a hot stretch together at Santa Anita as Pony Express opened his 2025 season with a 6-length allowance win on Sunday.

Quick to the front and brave on the lead, Gun Runner colt delivered the 4th win in the last 5 races for the owner-trainer combination. The chestnut colt also accounted for jockey Umberto Rispoli’s fifth win on the Sunday card!

West Point races Pony Express in partnership with Michael Talla and Three Chimneys Farm.

Sadler and WPT also scored with debuting 2-year-old Liberation on May 24, with Miles Finch on June 7 and with Final Boss on June 8.
