Winding down her career at age 6, Gal in a Rush will look to reach a new peak on Friday night in the Grade 2 Presque Isle Masters Stakes. She ran third with a tough trip in this race last year.
Gal in a Rush has been a consistent stakes performer across five seasons for owners West Point Thoroughbreds, Chris Larsen and Titletown Racing Stable. She scored a Graded stakes triumph in the 2024 Hendrie Stakes (G3) at Woodbine and gets another chance on a synthetic racing surface Friday night at Presque Isle with jockey Joel Rosario.
The daughter of Ghostzapper can continue the wave initiated by another West Point veteran last week when Dripping Gold achieved a new personal best at age 6 when he prevailed in the Presious Passion Stakes at Monmouth.
On Saturday, Ivory and Ebony will make her stakes debut in the Seneca Overnight for 3-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs. She is coming off a maiden win at Saratoga on August 31 for trainer Dale Romans. Jose Ortiz has the mount.
