Passion,
Performance, and
the Pursuit of Excellence
West Point Thoroughbreds was founded on a simple belief: the thrill of owning a racehorse should be accessible to everyone. What started with one horse in 1991 has grown into one of the most respected and successful ownership syndicates in thoroughbred racing. Our journey has been built on a passion for the sport, a dedication to excellence, and a deep respect for our horses and those who care for them.
Legacy in the Making
Terry and Debbie Finley established West Point Thoroughbreds in 1991. Terry, a former U.S. Army officer whose passion developed a passion for racing at a young age. His vision was to create a way for racing enthusiasts to enjoy the ownership experience without the enormous financial burden that typically comes with it. Since our first stakes winner, we've been committed to delivering unforgettable experiences to our partners both on and off the track. Over the years, we've had the privilege of racing some of the finest horses in the sport, including Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming, Grade 1 champion Flightline, and Eclipse Award nominees. We've celebrated victories in some of the sport's most prestigious races, from the Breeders' Cup to international events. But at the heart of our operation is the belief that every horse we race carries the hopes and dreams of our partners.
More than ownership - It's Partnership
What sets West Point Thoroughbreds apart is our commitment to our partners. We believe in transparency, education, and communication, ensuring that each partner feels like they are truly part of the team. Our knowledgeable staff and expert trainers work closely with our partners to keep them informed, engaged, and part of the action every step of the way. At West Point, you're not just buying into a horse—you’re joining a community of passionate fans who share your excitement for the sport. We offer ownership opportunities that allow partners to invest in high-quality thoroughbreds at all levels of racing, from the thrill of debut runs to the excitement of championship races.
