Liberation wrapped up a super 2-year-old season for West Point Thoroughbreds and trainer John Sadler on Saturday, landing her first stakes victory in the Soviet Problem for Cal-bred fillies at Los Alamitos.
Stubborn in turning back a stretch challenge with the guidance of jockey Juan Hernandez, the daughter of Omaha Beach owns two other wins along with 3 stakes placings, from 6 total starts. She registered West Point’s 15th stakes win of 2025, joining fellow Sadler 2yo filly Super Corredora, who prevailed in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).
Sadler helped pick out Liberation at the Fasig-Tipton California October yearling sale, where she was acquired for $130,000. Her bankroll now stands at $177,600. West Point races the chestnut filly with co-owners Hall Racing, Ed Barker and Jeffrey Levinson.
