Accidental Hero was in the right place, at the right time and with plenty of horsepower on Friday as he blazed to a 3-length maiden win at Turfway Park.

The 3-year-old colt came flying into the stretch and split horses before drawing off to to the victory. In the irons was regular jockey J. D. Ramos, who had teamed with Accidental Hero for three second-place finishes and a third in his four races as a 2-year-old.

West Point acquired Accidental Hero at the OBS March sale in a racing partnership with Edwin Barker and William Sandbrook.

Steve Asmussen trains Accidental Hero, who now owns a win and four placings in six career starts.
