“I had so much confidence the whole race,” commented jockey Joel Rosario. “She took dirt early and sat the pocket waiting for my cue. The filly to my outside brushed us a bit turning for home but she pushed her right off and saw the target in front of her. I was on the best filly today. She handled the distance no problem.”
“She’s such a classy filly,” said trainer Tom Albertrani. ”It’s hard not to be excited about her after two really solid efforts. They didn’t give her a big number for the effort, but she just did it the right way. The race didn’t seem to take much out of her at all.”
Berned will likely make her next start in either the $400,000 Darley Alcibiades Stakes (G1) run at 1 1/16 miles on October 7th at Keeneland $400,000 Frizette Stakes (G1) run at a flat mile on October 8 at Belmont.
West Point Thoroughbreds purchased the daughter of Bernardini from the 2015 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
