Breakthrough for Voodoo Zip and Bravo at Gulfstream / Monday, April 12, 2021

Voodoo Zip found his way to the winner’s circle and in emphatic fashion Saturday in a 2-length victory on the turf at Gulfstream Park.

The 4-year-old colt had never been worse than third in his career and the breakthrough came with veteran Joe Bravo up, a reunion with one of the earliest jockeys for West Point Thoroughbreds more than two decades ago as well as the pilot in recent WPT stakes success with Berned, Untamed Domain and County Final.

Christophe Clement trains Voodoo Zip, a son of City Zip who had second by a head on March 12 at Gulfstream.

West Point purchased Voodoo Zip at the OBS April sale of two-year-olds in training.
