Carson’s Run, Slider Entered in Breeders’ Cup World Championships / Thursday, October 26, 2023

Two-year-old colts Carson’s Run and Slider have been entered to represent West Point Thoroughbreds in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Santa Anita.

Carson’s Run, winner of the Grade 1 Summer Stakes at Woodbine, drew post 14 in a full field for the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) run at a mile on the turf on Friday, November 3. Christophe Clement trains Carson’s Run, who is co-owned by Steven Bouchey. He is 6-to-1 on the morning line and will be ridden again by Dylan Davis.

Christophe said, “He is feeling great and I am excited about him. He looks well and seems to be happy.”

Slider has pleased John Sadler each step of the way gearing up for the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) run at five furlongs on the turf on Friday, November 3. He worked a half-mile in 47:40 (2/21) on October 20 and is listed at 8-to-1 odds. Hector Berrios will ride from post 11 of 12.

John said, “The heavy lifting is over, that work last Friday went perfectly, and he looks good this week so we’re counting down the days.”
