Dontlookbackatall and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. kept the ball rolling for West Point Thoroughbreds on Monday, delivering as the heavy favorite in the $100,000 Power By Far Stakes for Pennsylvania-bred fillies and mares at Parx.
West Point was registering a stakes triumph for the third day in a row, with Dontlookbackatall following the wins by Vahva in the Grade 3 Chicago Stakes with Ortiz in the saddle on Saturday at Churchill Downs and Carson’s Run in the Tale of the Cat Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
The dark bay, white-faced filly also added to a torrid stretch of nine winners in nine days from the West Point roster, which is uncharted territory in the stable’s 32-year history.
Dontlookbackatall had an enthusiastic group to watch her at Parx as she pounced from just off the pace and prevailed by three-quarters of length with a confident ride from the Eclipse champion Ortiz, who improved his record on West Point runners this year to 6 wins with 5 seconds from 12 runners.
Christophe Clement trains Dontlookbackatall, who has rivaled Irad in her consistency throughout her career, now accounting for 5 wins, 5 seconds and two fourth-place finishes from 12 career starts. Her previous stakes victory came in the License Fee Stakes at Belmont at the Big A.
West Point, Scarlet Oak Racing and Titletown Racing Stable acquired Dontlookbackatall at the 2022 OBS March sale of 2-year-olds in training.
