Dontlookbackatall didn’t blink Thursday in pursuit of her third straight stakes win, driving to victory with a sure-handed Irad Ortiz Jr. in the $200,000 Caress (G3) at Saratoga.
A dark bay filly with a splash of white across her face, Dontlookbackatall answered Irad’s call at the top of the lane, surging along the center of the course to prevail by a head at 8-to-1 odds. The Pennsylvania-bred 4-year-old enhanced her ultra-consistent record, which now stands at six wins and five seconds in 13 career starts. She has earned $487,290 for West Point and racing partners Scarlet Oak Racing and Titletown Racing Stables.
A big crowd of partners, families and friends celebrated Dontlookbackatall in the Saratoga winner’s circle.
Christophe Clement said, “She keeps on improving and it was an amazing ride from Irad. He was very patient, he waited and waited and waited and it paid off.
“It was a very popular win today, a lot of people [in the winner’s circle], a lot of noise, in a good way. It’s great. It’s what racing is all about.”
